Why Physicians Should Practice Medicine in Idaho

Family physician Ted Epperly has been a bit of a nomad. After growing up in the wide-open reaches of Idaho, he left his home state to attend medical school and then to serve in the U.S. Army for 21 years. However, once he completed his military service, he chose to come back to the Gem State in part because of its "wonderful state of scenic beauty."Ted Epperly

Epperly told Physicians Practice that Idaho is the perfect place for a family physician to practice. With many rural and frontier communities, it allows for a broad scope of practice, "from delivering babies, to taking care of young children, to taking care of the elderly and a lot of end-of-life experiences." He said it is easy for one physician to make a big difference.

In this podcast, Epperly tells Physicians Practice more about what he likes — and what could be improved — about practicing medicine in Idaho.
