Dermatologist Carlos Garcia, of Oklahoma City, Okla., recently told Physicians Practice what he loves — and would change — about practicing in The Sooner State.
What do you enjoy about practicing in Oklahoma?
Friendly people; lots of patients from rural or
semi-rural areas; good camaraderie among dermatologists; low cost of living; traffic is not bad
at all; and religion is still important here.
What don't you enjoy or would change about practicing in Oklahoma?
The weather is brutal (I lost one home to a fire in 2009, another to a tornado in 2011).
It is difficult to recruit physicians from out of state.
