Our staff is honored to help the healthcare community make strides in practice management to improve patient care. We're also proud of our efforts to make a difference in healthcare through our annual community service initiatives. Here's a behind-the-scenes look at the company's recent community-building activities.
2006
Our staff members put on their walking shoes to help cure diabetes in October. The Physicians Practice Pedometers were recognized as the top corporate team for raising the most donations in the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation's (JDRF) Walk to Cure Diabetes in Annapolis, Md.
"You've exceeded our high expectations and turned this fundraising event into a spectacular success."
— Bill Badger, Vice President, Mid-Atlantic Government Banking, M&T Bank
Corporate Chair, 2006 Annapolis Walk
Congratulations to members of the extended Physicians Practice family are also in order—Team Sheldon was the top family fundraising group participating in the Annapolis event.
We're pleased to have a small hand in helping turn diabetes research into reality.
2005
Physicians Practice gave a well-deserved facelift to Matilda Koval Medical Center, a Baltimore health clinic that has served its community for 20 years.
"Our company spends so much time advising practices on how to improve operations. Many of us felt the need to give something back to this local health center so that its look and feel could match the quality of care received by its patients."
— Gerry Hartung, CEO and co-founder, Physicians Practice
Health centers that provide care to low-income as well as under- and uninsured patients find that they spend most of their time focusing on the quality of patient care rather than on the decor of the physical office space. Our staff members placed a fresh coat of paint and some decorative touches in the facility to cheer up the atmosphere for both patients and staff.
