Physicians Practice and Maimonides Medical Center Partner To Help Brooklyn-Area Physicians Improve Patient Care
Baltimore, Maryland — December 07, 2006 — Physicians and patients of community-based medical practices in Brooklyn, N.Y., will benefit from a new partnership between Physicians Practice and Maimonides Medical Center, providing resources to help local physicians manage their practices more efficiently to improve the quality of patient care.
Under the alliance, Physicians Practice®, America’s Leading Practice Management Journal, will be mailed to 5,750 Brooklyn doctors 11 times annually. These providers, who see patients primarily in private practices rather than in academia or hospital settings, will receive articles pertinent to the daily business issues involved with running a medical office. Each issue will also feature a section sponsored by Maimonides Medical Center highlighting news in clinical and scientific research.
“We are proud to partner with Maimonides to bring expertise in practice management and technology to Brooklyn-area medical practices so they can spend less time on business and more time with patients,” says Ken Karpay, senior vice president and publisher of Physicians Practice.
Maimonides Medical Center has 705 beds, a staff of internationally renowned physicians, and more than 70 primary-care and subspecialty programs. In 2004, the Medical Center provided more than 91,000 emergency room visits, 241,000 ambulatory care visits, and delivered more than 6,300 babies.
