Physicians Practice, Community Hospital Partner To Help Improve Patient Care in Colorado and Utah

Baltimore, Maryland — April 19, 2007 — Community HospitalPhysicians and patients of community-based medical practices in western Colorado and eastern Utah will benefit from a new partnership between Physicians Practice and Community Hospital, providing resources to help local physicians manage their practices more efficiently, thereby improving patient care.

Under this partnership, Physicians Practice®, America's Leading Practice Management Journal, will be mailed monthly to more than 500 doctors in western Colorado and eastern Utah, with articles pertinent to the daily business issues faced by area physicians and their staff. The journal will also feature a section sponsored by Community Hospital highlighting news in clinical and scientific research.

"Providing for the health and wellness of our community is a collaborative effort with our physician partners," said Brad Wright, president of Colorado West Healthcare Systems, the parent company for Community Hospital. "Our teaming with Physicians Practice is just one more way we support our physician partners' efforts to manage and grow their practices to better serve the community."

The staff of Community Hospital prides itself on coming together as a bigger group -- physicians, nurses, specialists, and caregivers or family -- to get to know patients as whole individuals in order to know all the factors that might help them improve more quickly.

This kind of thinking has won the hearts of patients and earned Community Hospital some impressive accolades as well:

  • One of the Top 100 Hospitals in America in 2003
  • Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organization's "Gold Seal" of National Quality Approval
  • Only hospital in Colorado to receive the Colorado Coalition on Patient Safety's Award two consecutive years (2002 and 2003)

"We are proud to partner with Community Hospital to bring expertise in practice management and technology to Colorado area medical practices so they can spend less time on business and more time with patients," says Ken Karpay, senior vice president and publisher of Physicians Practice.
