New senior editor brings more resources to physicians, press
Baltimore, Maryland — May 25, 2007 — To meet increasing demand from physicians for management help, Physicians Practice has promoted Laurie Hyland Robertson to senior editor, projects.
Previously managing editor for the parent company of Physicians Practice®, America's Leading Practice Management Journal, Robertson will play an even more central role in shaping content that helps physicians run more efficient practices. A “makeover” consultant to practices and a popular educator, Robertson will enable Physicians Practice to offer more and improved resources to physicians and press needing input on issues related to the business of medicine. She has a particular interest in managing projects and overseeing content related to specific specialties and disease states.
"I’m thrilled to play a part in making modern American medicine at least a bit more effective,” says Robertson. “Making the most of the time physicians and patients have together is key to improving the system, and whether I’m editing, lecturing, writing, or educating another journalist, it’s wonderful to be invested in what I do.”
“Laurie has the kind of energy and unique skills we value at Physicians Practice,” comments publisher Ken Karpay. “Her editorial background, knowledge of the industry, and willingness to dive into new projects make her the perfect team member.”
Robertson previously worked with multiple clients editing books, journals, and other content in the medical and business fields, and as managing editor at Quintessence Publishing, near Chicago, managing several peer-reviewed medical journals. She has been with Physicians Practice since 2005.
