Jeffrey Hertzberg, M.D., M.S., is president of Medformatics, Inc.®, a consulting firm specializing in the design, implementation, and selection of healthcare information systems. He was a board-certified physician before completing a National Library of Medicine research fellowship and graduate degree in Medical Informatics at the University of Minnesota. He has worked largely in the consulting arena, developing disease state management programs, physician profiling systems, and electronic health records for clients ranging in size from Fortune 500 pharmaceutical giants to local and regional healthcare organizations.
Pamela L. Moore, PhD, CPC, has spent the past 10 years learning, writing about, and teaching practice management. She is currently senior editor at Physicians Practice, America’s Leading Practice Management Journal, serving as lead researcher, consultant, and writer. Previously, Moore was senior editor at the Medical Group Management Association. She is a popular speaker at national and regional events, is a certified professional coder, and has a scholarly background that includes work in medical ethics.
Rosemarie Nelson has experience in information systems, as a medical office manager, and as a consultant to physicians. As a healthcare consultant with the Medical Group Management Association, Nelson regularly conducts educational seminars on a variety of healthcare technology and operational topics. Nelson has also authored numerous articles and helped create new informatics products for physician practices in the Office of the Future consortium.
Betsy Nicoletti has more than 20 years experience in physician practice management and speaks nationally about billing, coding, and compliance. Her goal is to help physicians get paid! She has been a consultant for the past five years. Previously, she was the Chief Operating Officer of Network Management Services in Springfield, VT. for nine years. She recently published a book, The Field Guide to Physician Coding.
Kathleen Stillwell, MPA/HSA, RN, CPHRM Patient Safety/Risk Management Account Executive, The Doctors Company Kathleen Stillwell earned Master’s Degrees in Public Administration and Health Services Administration. She is also a registered nurse and a Certified Professional Health Care Risk Manager. Ms. Stillwell is a nationally recognized expert in health care risk management with over 25 years of experience in clinical risk management, professional liability claims management, compliance, and high-risk underwriting. Her expertise includes hospital and health care administration, physician practice management, health benefits management, and health care regulatory compliance.
William Sonnenberg, MD, FAAFP, is a family physician in private practice in Titusville, Pa. He serves on the board of trustees for the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians, where he has also served as chairman of member services. Sonnenberg is the Pennsylvania rural representative for the American Academy of Family Physicians and spent four years the president of the medical staff of Titusville Area Hospital. Sonnenberg is a member of the Physicians Advisory Committee for Companion Technologies in Columbia, S.C., where he provides input on software upgrades to the Electronic Health Record Solution.
Sonnenberg earned his bachelor’s degree from Allegheny College in Meadville, Pa., and his medical degree at the University of Pittsburgh School of Medicine. Sonnenberg has made several conference presentations on electronic medical records and other topics for the Pennsylvania Academy of Family Physicians and the American Academy of Family Physicians.
Gregory Oliver, D.O., graduated with a bachelor’s degree from Indiana University and a medical degree with honors from the Chicago College of Osteopathic Medicine at Midwestern University. He completed his post graduate medical training in family medicine at Grandview Medical Center in Dayton, Ohio. Oliver is board certified in family medicine and licensed to practice in Indiana. He has been in practice as a family physician in Indianapolis for 26 years.
Oliver has also served as chief of the medical staff of Westview Hospital, chairman of the Department of Family Medicine, and a director on the hospital’s board. He is currently on the medical staff of Westview Hospital and Clarian West Hospital. Oliver’s years of medical practice, clinical teaching, clinic development and operation, as well as his six years of experience with a fully electronic office, provide him with a unique insight into using new technologies to enhance patient care, employee satisfaction, and practice efficiencies for a more profitable practice.
