HIPAA's Effect on Medical Practice Work Flow

HIPAA's Effect on Medical Practice Work Flow

With technology — from EHRs to tablets — in constant use at medical practices, there is also the specter of HIPAA hanging over all who use it.

In this video, Robert M. Tennant, senior policy advisor for the Medical Group Management Association's Government Affairs Office, discusses how practices should be wary of HIPAA risks in their daily work flow and the importance of a security risk analysis, especially in light of CMS' EHR Incentive Program (i.e. meaningful use).

Tennant will present "Critical HIPAA Privacy and Security Issues Impacting Medical Groups" at the MGMA14 Conference in Las Vegas on Tuesday, Oct. 28 from 2:45 p.m. - 3:45 p.m.
