Preparing for ICD-10: Steps to Take Today

Article

Jackie Stack of the AAPC explains how your medical practice can prepare for the looming ICD-10 coding transition in 2014.

While CMS has announced that the conversion from ICD-9 to ICD-10 won't take place until October, 1, 2014, there are steps medical practices need to take today to prepare.

Perhaps you were already on your way for being ready for the initial 2013 implementation date, but likely, you were relieved for a one-year reprieve. Either way, there is still a lot of work to be done to get your entire medical practice – physicians included – on-board with the myriad coding possibilities looming on the horizon.

On October 10, Jackie Stack, CPC, an ICD-10 specialist for the AAPC held a live webinar, providing an overview of the ICD-10 transition and tips and advice for how your practice can prepare. Access the on-demand video presentation here.
