Today, 72 percent of physicians have already deployed an EHR system in their private practice, according to data collected by the CDC.
That's up 36 percent since 2009, and continues to rise due to "meaningful use" incentives available to physicians who get on board sooner rather than later. While some physicians are hesitant to leave traditional patient records behind, the numbers prove it won't be long before EHRs become the new office norm.
