Despite a delay in implementation, Dan Howard of Cook County Hospital explains his facility's transition to the new coding standard.

 


While the federal government has delayed the planned October 2013 transition to the ICD-10 coding standard, many private practices and hospitals have already expended considerable time and effort to make the switch.

In this video, Dan Howard, CIO of Illinois-based Cook County Hospital, discusses why the uncertainty around a new implementation date doesn't matter to him, the benefits he sees in the transition to the new codes, and keys to success for others to follow in their own planning.
