While the federal government has delayed the planned October 2013 transition to the ICD-10 coding standard, many private practices and hospitals have already expended considerable time and effort to make the switch.

In this video, Dan Howard, CIO of Illinois-based Cook County Hospital, discusses why the uncertainty around a new implementation date doesn't matter to him, the benefits he sees in the transition to the new codes, and keys to success for others to follow in their own planning.
