With all the useful information available on Physicians Practice, it is easy to become overwhelmed.

With this in mind, the tip of the week is a chance to reflect on some of the wisdom found all across the site. In the August 2021 article on how to create an operations manual for your practice, Carol Stryker writes the following:

1). Remember the function of any operations manual - an operations manual is not intended to be great literature - simple words and short sentences are more important than engaging prose.

2). Accept the practical consequences of a living document - an operations manual is in an almost constant state of flux. It is corrected and updated as understanding, circumstances, and the environment change.

3). Start with a table of contents - a prospective table of contents supplies a useful framework and discrete tasks. It can make the task manageable.
