1). Smile
- Always wear a smile, on the phone, when greeting patients, when wishing patients a great day as the leave, and while thanking them for payment.
2). Superstar manager embrace change
- Just as physicians must stay current on clinical advances, successful managers must keep abreast of changes such as new technologies, shifting payer reimbursement, changes in market demands, and the swinging pendulum of physician employment
3). Approach patients and situations proactively
- For example, don't wait until the patients are up at the desk complaining about the wait. Advise them as soon as you know there will be a longer wait.
