Andrea Greco, SVP of healthcare safety at CENTEGIX, identifies common shortcomings of risk assessments and explains how practices can address their blind spots.

In an interview with Medical Economics Assistant Editor Austin Littrell, Andrea Greco, SVP of healthcare safety at CENTEGIX, identified key blind spots in risk assessments within practice settings, emphasizing the importance of thoroughly analyzing an organization's specific needs.

One common shortcoming is failing to assess gaps in training and understanding among staff, which can be addressed through regular employee check-ins, surveys, and quarterly evaluations. Greco also pointed out that, while awareness of workplace violence in health care has existed for years, there is now increasing accountability and pressure to take action.
