Comparing Fee Schedules

Article

How can I compare Medicare's reimbursement rates from one year to another? My practice's fee schedule had been based on the 2002 rates but we recently changed it to 2004. I want to know if we're better off.

Question: How can I compare Medicare's reimbursement rates from one year to another? My practice's fee schedule had been based on the 2002 rates but we recently changed it to 2004. I want to know if we're better off.

Answer: Rates overall increased in 2003 and 2004, so you should be better off. But if you want to cross your T's, you can find fee schedules going back to 1999 at www.cms.hhs.gov/physicians/pfs/.
