Question: Can you please define “facility” versus “nonfacility”?
Answer: In administrative circles, these terms usually refer to Medicare’s fee schedule. Medicare pays facilities (generally hospitals) differently than it pays nonfacilities (ambulatory care centers and physician offices). CMS defines each in greater detail.
