Is your practice safe?
Stop staff burnout in its tracks with these three proven tactics to boost morale under pressure in this quick P2 Management Minute.
Hey there folks, my name is Keith Reynolds, I’m the editor of Physicians Practice and this is the P2 Management Minute. Here are three fast moves to keep your
1. Run 360-degree risk assessments
Treat a full-spectrum risk check like a stethoscope for your business. Start with OSHA slip-and-fall lists, add HIPAA penetration testing, then end the day with a ‘hazard huddle’ so front-line staff flag blind spots. Document findings, assign owners with 30-day deadlines, and redo a mini-check after any renovation or major workflow change.
2. Harden devices andrehearse ransomware response
Adopt zero-trust security: least-privilege log-ins, auto-patching, and quarterly phishing fire-drills. Back that tech with an old-school continuity binder listing offline backups, insurer contacts, and a paper-workflow plan if the network dies.
3. Upgrade infection-control and airflow
Hand sanitizer is not enough. Swap HVAC filters for MERV-13s, add portable HEPA units, and install CO₂ monitors that blink when ventilation lags. Pair those engineering fixes with weekly surface-swab audits and an updated intake script to reroute potentially contagious patients before they hit the lobby.
