Physicians Practice will host a free virtual conference Thursday afternoon covering some of the most pressing operational challenges facing medical practices today, from claim denials and reimbursement policy to hiring systems and financial performance.

The Practice Academy Series: Practice Management Track runs from 1 to 5 p.m. EDT March 19 and features four sessions led by industry experts in revenue cycle, staffing, and health policy.

The event opens with a session on denial management at 1:05 p.m. Michelle Scott, area vice president of revenue cycle services operations at Veradigm, will walk practice leaders through strategies to improve first-pass claim rates, shorten accounts receivable cycles, and reduce the administrative burden that denials place on staff.

At 2 p.m., Anders Gilberg, senior vice president of government affairs at the Medical Group Management Association, will deliver a policy and reimbursement update covering Medicare reimbursement changes, telehealth, quality reporting, and surprise medical billing developments coming out of Washington.

The 2:50 p.m. session, led by Bronson Cox, chief operating officer at Encoda, takes a broader view of financial health, drawing on a national survey of practice leaders to identify the metrics and workflows that separate high-performing practices from those simply surviving the revenue cycle.

The conference closes at 3:50 p.m. with a session on hiring and delegation led by Justin Lam, CEO of Cool Blue VA. Lam will present a framework for shifting from task-based delegation to outcome-based ownership, including how virtual assistants can serve as a reliable execution layer for independent practices.

Registration is free.
