Keep your medical practice productive over Labor Day weekend with two proven tactics in this quick P2 Management Minute.
Hey there folks, my name is Keith Reynolds, I’m the editor of Physicians Practice and this is the P2 Management Minute. Here are two ways to keep your practice productive over Labor Day weekend.
Labor Day weeks run light—use it. Cluster non-urgent visits earlier so your team has breathing room later. Front-load procedures and follow-ups on Wednesday/Thursday, and keep Friday lighter for catch-up and admin. After the holiday, reserve Tuesday morning for short visits and urgent slots to handle pent-up demand. You’ll cut overtime, avoid bottlenecks, and keep the week balanced.
Traveling patients or parents with kids at home still need care. Promote virtual visits the week before the holiday to prevent last-minute cancellations. Use telehealth for med checks, lab-result reviews, and minor complaints—keep your schedule full while freeing rooms for those who must be seen in person.
Front-load the week, lean on telehealth, and you’ll cruise through Labor Day. For more bite-size practice tips and tricks make sure you visit PhysiciansPractice.com.
Thanks for watching I’ll see you tomorrow on the P2 Management Minute!
