Boost patient volume with two proven tactics in this quick P2 Management Minute.

Hey there folks, my name is Keith Reynolds, I’m the editor of Physicians Practice and this is the P2 Management Minute. Here are two quick ways to boost patient volume without burning out your team.

1) Tap into texting for preventive care

Use automated, personalized texts to nudge patients about annual wellness visits, vaccines, and screenings. Include a one-tap scheduling link and offer two time options to reduce back-and-forth. Segment messages by age and due-date, send at patient-friendly hours, and follow with a same-day reminder to cut no-shows.

2) Streamline communications with virtual assistants

Deploy an AI-powered assistant on your phone tree and website to handle FAQs, insurance checks, directions, and basic triage—then hand off to staff when needed. Let it book appointments, waitlist patients, and provide prep instructions. Track two metrics weekly: average hold time and call-to-booking conversion. Aim to drop holds under 90 seconds while lifting bookings.

Smart texts plus smart assistants: more visits, less workload.
