3. Optimize scheduling to see more patients

Simple tweaks—like extending hours, double-booking with no-show considerations, or reclaiming unused time slots—can help practices see more patients without adding staff. As Medical Economics explains, smarter scheduling can rev up productivity.

Example: Run a monthly report of all appointment cancellations and identify patterns. If most cancellations happen at certain times, consider double-booking during that slot. You’ll likely fill gaps without overburdening providers.
