Practice tip of the week: Firing employees

With all the useful information available on Physicians Practice, it is easy to become overwhelmed.

With this in mind, the tip of the week is a chance to reflect on some of the wisdom found all across the site. In this November 2023 article on eight steps to firing an employee, Todd Shryock, gives this tip:

Follow the employee handbook

• Every employee should receive a handbook containing the practice's policies and it should include a termination section.
• The handbook should be signed off on by an employment attorney before being issued, and every employee should sign that they received it and understand it
