Medicare would pay most physicians 1.68 percent less per service in 2027, but the rate cut is the least of it. Buried in the nearly 1,600-page proposed rule are changes that would halve payment for a second service on the same day, convert the G2211 complexity add-on into a percentage modifier and end traditional MIPS reporting after 2028.
