P2 Management Minute: Boosting practice staff morale

Hello there folks, my name is Keith Reynolds, I’m the editor of Physicians Practice and for our first P2 Management Minute we’re focusing on no-cost ways to boost practice staff morale:

First, make feedback a fixture. Ask staff members for ideas to make the day easier in every huddle. Capture suggestions, and this is key, close the loop within a week. When staff see action, trust soars.

Second, recognize great work in the moment. A quick ‘thank you,’ a sticky-note shout-out, even a playful ‘Thanks a Million’ certificate costs pennies but buys loyalty. And be sure to praise them publicly; so that other employees see what excellence looks like.

Finally, celebrate the little victories. Hold a low-budget mini-event for patient-satisfaction highs, clean coding streaks, and yes, birthdays. Frequent micro-celebrations beat one big holiday party at keeping joy alive all year.
