Practice tip of the week: How to hire better front-desk staff

With all the useful information available on Physicians Practice, it is easy to become overwhelmed.

With this in mind, the tip of the week is a chance to reflect on some of the wisdom found all across the site. In the October 2021 article on how to hire better front-desk staff, Audrey Mclaughlin, RN writes the following:

It doesn't have to cost you more money to find the perfect front-desk staff member. There are great candidates out there to meet every budget, who will help you create stellar front-desk first impressions. Here are some things to look for:

1. Search for candidates with a high attention to detail – if they don’t follow intrsutions in the application process exactly, don’t give them a second look.
2. Hire for personality and train the skills – you can’t train someone into a bright, sunny demeanor.”
