Easy Practice Management Improvement Tips for Physicians

Video

This video interview with MGMA consultant Rosemarie Nelson is packed with simple ways physicians can better balance patient care and practice management.

Whether you work solo or in a group, trying to manage your practice and care for your patients can lead to long work hours and stressful days. But implementing some easy policies and procedures can help.

In a recent Physicians Practice PEARLS column, Rosemarie Nelson, a principal with the Medical Group Management Association Health Care Consulting Group, wrote that in order to stay on top of practice management responsibilities, physicians need to have a good understanding of four critical practice areas: staff, IT, accounts receivable, and customer service. She went on to provide some great tips regarding what physicians need to focus on in each of these areas.

In a companion piece, Physicians Practice sat down with Rosemarie Nelson for a Skype video interview to learn more about how physicians can improve efficiency and productivity in each of those four areas.

She provided some simple policies and procedures that can ease up on the burdens of practice management and better enable physicians to do it all: manage their practice and care for their patients.
