1) KPIs stall despite workflow tweaks

When call-abandon rates hover near 28% and portal backlogs or unsent claims won’t budge after process fixes, it’s not workflow—it’s manpower. Set targets like less than 5% abandoned calls and same-day claim submission. If you miss for two straight months post-tweaks, fill the seats.

2) You’re cutting visit slots or office hours

If you’re trimming appointment capacity or closing early because you lack staff, you’re shrinking revenue on purpose. Log every turned-away request and any reduced clinic hours. Consistent cuts mean it’s time to recruit—or tap a temp/locums partner—now.
